Nuclear Physics

The Sezione di Torino dell'INFN is involved in 8 Nuclear Physics Experiments.

These experimental activities are classified according to the scheme recomended by the International Steering Committee for Nuclear Physics NuPECC (Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee), namely:

  1. quark and hadron dynamics (FINUDA, GRAAL, PAINUC, PANDA);
  2. phase transitions of nuclear and hadronic matter (ALICE, IPER);
  3. nuclear structure and reaction dynamics (PRISMA);
  4. nuclear astrophysics and interdisciplinary researches (LUNA3).

More the 60 researchers are currently engaged in the listed experiments, carried on at both national and foreign laboratories and belonging to all the 4 mentioned research lines.

For further details please visit the web site of the III Commissione Scientifica Nazionale dell'INFN, the board who is in charge of refereeing, funding and coordinating all the experimental initiatives (www.infn.it/csn3/welcome.html).
