General information about Public Transportation in Turin (GTT home page)

Turin has an efficient system of city connections with busses, trams and a metropolitan line.
Tickets can be bought from the automatic machines or in tobacconists, newsagents, coffee shops and public places who exhibit the special sign: "GTT". Tickets can be bought also at the Reception in Villa Gualino.
Tickets can not be bought aboard of trams and busses.
There is a GTT Information Office (where is also possible to buy tickets) in Porta Nuova Railway Station.
Ordinary city ticket ("Ordinario urbano") - Euro 1.00
Valid for 70 minutes from when first punched (only punch the ticket once, on the first vehicle boarded, on the side "Prima Convalida") on metropolitan lines and on city rail links along GTT suburban lines.
It is valid 70 minutes in the Turin urban area (excluding tourist services) and it is possible to change bus or tram within this time without limitations. It permits only 1 ride on the subway (Metro). By punching the ticket a second time (on the side "Seconda Convalida") within the 70-minute timeframe, users can continue their journey as far as the terminus using the same vehicle (no more bus or tram changes are allowed).
Tickets can also be bought at the parking machines ("parcometro"): the price is 1.00 Euro and the ticket is valid for 80 minutes from the emission (no validation aboard).
By default, busses and trams stop only upon request ("a richiesta").

Special tickets are available for weekends, groups, shopping,... see here.
Tourist services require special tickets.
